Below is a sample agreement. An all-star manager may request that a participating player and parent sign one. This is designed to let you know what to expect from all-star play.
PYSA All Star Player - Parent - Manager Agreement
1. Players will arrive to all practices and games on time. We have a saying "If you are not early, you're late". That means you are ready to practice, or play on time. If you cannot attend a practice or game, please notify the manager, or one of the coaches ahead of time.
2. Players are to be in proper uniform at game time. That means team uniform, glove,
and cleats. No watches or jewelry. Shirts must be tucked in before a player walks on the field.
3. Players and parents will always show respect for teammates, opponents, manager, coaches, scorekeeper, umpires, and team mother.
4. Manager, coaches, scorekeeper, and team mother will show same respect to the players and their parents.
5. Players and parents will cheer in a positive way and not berate officials and/or opponents. No cheers that use words that put down, or make fun of the other team or players are allowed.
6. Players will always play by three standards: 1) Play hard 2) Play smart 3) Play fair. We only ask that the players give their best effort. We realize that mistakes and errors will be made.
7. Players will play unselfishly and be team oriented. There is no "I" or "Me" in the word, or meaning of TEAM.
8. Players must understand that they may be asked to play a position that may not be their favorite. They must understand that they are learning to work as a team.
9. Players and parents need to respect and support the manager and coaches when it comes to game strategy, and team discipline. We will treat every player with respect. We may have to be firm, but we will never be demeaning.
10. Sports can be a very important part of your child's development. We ask that the players give 100% effort during practice and games. If they practice hard they will play hard. "You play how you practice". As coaches we will treat the girls like they were our own children.
11. Parents please DO NOT: 1) coach your daughter from the stands, 2) stand behind the back stop when your daughter, or another player is at bat, 3) tell your daughter that she should have caught, or hit a ball. The girls are trying to do their best. We DO NOT want them to feel added pressure from their parents. Remember we are the coaches and we need your support.
12. Players, coaches, and parents will show good sportsmanship under every condition, and circumstance.
13. Players and parents agree to make 100% commitment to the team.
